this news i find a bit interesting.
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is being playtested here at Valve regularly now, and one of the pieces of the game that's getting strong reactions from our testers is driving the game's new vehicle. This thing's got some major horsepower. Here's a peek at some of the early vehicle concept work:

well, I don't care much about the new car, I'm just hoping Episode two will be more than just killing combines. It just ain't that fun anymore.
if they can get my attention once more as they did with Half-life 2 then I'll be impressed.

well, i can tell you one thing.
when HL2:E2 arrives, i'll be the first to get it.
but what do you expect? gordon freeman frenchkissing a combine?
or alyx raped by a combine and 9 months or earlier she squirts out some mutant combine/human baby/offspring that will attack gordon freeman?
no, i guess we will be fighting some zombine and stalkers too!
what if alyx gets raped by a zombine or a stalker?

(well, i have to say raped because i seriously doubt alyx would like any form of contact with any of the HL2 species other than human)

not quite what i had imagined :S
but i really like the story behind the Half-life games and i just think there's been too much focus on just runnin-n-killing combines. maybe more in-game cut scenes with storytelling would be awesome.

Well, What do you think of Episode two???

I think it is awesome.
Valve are one of the few game developers that can make games that really want to be played.
What do I mean by that?
I mean, most games I don't really like.
When I got them done, I am somehow... glad!
But Halflife games are games I want to play over and over again... seriously!
The only other games that have the same effect on me are GTA3, GTA LCS & Descent3 (sometimes descent 1 & 2)
But valve does brilliant work everytime.
Portal is superb too! Absolutely brilliant!

But there are 3 issues I dislike from valve.
1. Updates! Of course the updates aren't always really helping. (I still remember update of September 23st 2005)
2. Why are the episodic chapters so short, while the waiting time has been so long???
3. Release dates always move forward all the time with a minimum of at least a year. Damn!

Other than that, if it takes all this to make it so good (not meaning the update part) than I understand, so be it.

Aibo1, please reply... you also haven't replied to my new map's thread. (Shame on you! :P)

well, mate, its the joy of playing videogames. You found it in Half-life just as i did also with World of warcraft.
But the half-life series is one-of-a-kind and hasnt been replicated succesfuly by any game company and probably wont be at any point in time. It is the only game i have ever played and truely forgot where i were, time and space. I was caught in the action for 18 wonderful hours. It is the feeling, we will always seek in other games, it's like the first kiss all others kisses will be judged by. Whenever i play a game, that is the feeling I'm searching for again. it's somehow like a drug in our veins: we want more!
Maybe it is time for me, to turn back and play some more Half-life. World of warcraft has gotten a bit out of hand and I've worked too hard with progressing my character that i have forgoten the true joy of playing video games, that doesnt take thousands of hours to progress in. and i have allmost lost contact with you, since you're not on Xfire very often and I'm rarely on msn (and responding) plus this is the first time in months i check up on the site.

Yes nice words to discribe your game experiance.
I feel the same way.

As for game that require too much time for just progress, I understand it gets you pressured.
These conditions I refuse to call fun.
I rather have "walk in the park" than annoying shit that is going to irritate you.
Just think it over and relize what is more worth to you.
Real life is a so much better investment than a reputation in a game.
