TDM & RP_Hometown1999 An improvement over the previous versions. I wanted to create a nice place where you feel at home. Its summer time, and thats a rare thing for halflife2 maps at that time. For the rest, the info on the pictures speaks for themselfs. you can download the map from the http://WWW.SMARTZENEGGER.NL site (download page) Codes for the adminroom/hideout are hidden in the map somewhere. They are like eastereggs, good luck finding them. And have fun using the codes when found. (EXTRA!!! unofficialy provided, old version hometown-1996 download available here:)>>> Download Hometown 1996 by clicking HERE! <<<

i agree.
a fantastic layout with endless amount of detail and creativity.
it's a shame the "hideout" was revealed numerous times at facepunchstudios by the same mindless buffoon.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the ADMIN code has been revealed, at least on my server. I never knew it, someone actually joined my server and told me the code!!
It is almost common knowledge now.
If I get some nuke happy n00b, I'll either teleport them out of hiding when it nukes, or worst case senerio, I've deleted the nuke buttons before.

Dude, Its people like you who were the reason smart didn't want to reveal the admin code. People begging and screaming for the code and acting like a minge isn't the way you should ask for things. You should try to figure it out for yourself.

I really like this map, but you should put unbreakable windows to the computer store, because noobs are breaking it every time and stealing everything from the shopwindow.

well, if you understood real RP, you would have reported this to the police.
and have them patrol them near your store.
if this isn't possible, its not real RP what you are doing there.

Custom textures aren't working right for me. Is there anywhere to download them seperate? This happened with a friends map too, I had to download all 2000 textures in the pack he used to play the map without the black and purple checkers.

No I mean they aren't displaying for me. None of the maps with custom textures I download work. I think its a setting in my game or seomthing, cause even when they are compiled with the BSP I never get them to show. Any suggestions?

I'd try reinstalling.
Kalkman, I think this was brought up before, but I can't remember your answer. What do you think about releasing a night time version of hometown?

oh no not again the same question all over again!
NO! i hate the dark!
blind people aren't happy either!
thats why!
Hometown must express a summer and sunny feeling.
and the darkness is just depressing!
i hate it.
just like the winter!

Why should he release a night version?
The map is allready awesome in daylight and the whole "Hometown" concept is to give you a nice summer feeling.
My personal oppinion would be that a night version wouldn't give you that nice feeling.
You are supposed to feel at home in Hometown

I still think it would be funny for it to be nice and then in the admin room a button makes it go all bi-polar on you. it becomes dark, creepy, bloody, scary and ifnested with zombies.
